Diane Hobbs

Diane Hobbs is a certified “Active Parenting” instructor whose seminars have been attended by over 200 parents. She and her husband live in New Canaan with their four children (ages 13, 11, 10, 8). 

She is a frequent speaker who has made presentations for mothers, fathers and couples.  Diane has been featured at the Father’s Forum in Greenwich, East School in New Canaan, Family Centers, the New Canaan Library and First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Kisco.  Her presentations include "Positive Parenting Tools for Everyday Challenges" as well as "Active Parenting Strategies for Dads."

Based on the feedback survey, 100% of attendees felt that the investment in attending her five-part series was beneficial and useful to their families.

A former journalist, she recently participated in a radio interview on WGCH on  “Active Parenting” and the 40 Developmental Assets developed by the Search Institute.

Diane has a Masters in Elementary Education from Manhattanville. She is a former second grade teacher at Pear Tree Point School in Darien.  Diane has extensive training in the Orton-Gillingham-based approach to reading instruction.  In a previous career, she earned a B.A. in journalism from Southern Methodist University, which she put to use for almost ten years working for ABC News in Manhattan.  During her tenure as an associate producer, Diane produced segments for PrimeTime Live.
